Brandon Landrum |Staff Writer| The best players in the NBA showcased their talents during the 2014 NBA All Star weekend. This year, the games were held in New Orleans, LA. for the second time since 2008. The 63rd annual NBA All Star Game was the main attraction featured NBA superstars LeBron James of the Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant and the Indiana Pacers’ Paul George. The first event that kicked off the festivities in New Orleans was the BBVA Compass Bank Rising Stars Challenge. The Lakers have always run the show, attracted the celebrities and made L.A. traffic even worse with their championship parades. It’s always been about that purple and gold, not whatever colors that other team in L.A. has on their jerseys. The Clippers really were more like a “half” team. They were just the cheaper option for L.A.’s basketball fans to see a live basketball game without having to pay over 100 bucks just to sit in the nosebleeds. Men’s basketball falls short in showdown against Chico State

By Jovani Gama |Sports Editor| The men’s basketball team had a chance to avenge a loss they suffered earlier in the season against the powerful Chico State Wildcats, and claim first place in the CCAA potentially, Beforehand, they had to take care of business against a tough Cal State Stanislaus Warriors squad. The Coyotes did just that, putting forth an effective balanced attack on both the defensive and offensive end. Four players scored in double players, and seven players contributed with assists as the Coyotes beat down the Wildcats with a final score of 82-55.
