Racial representation issues lace the discussions of the spring Associated Students Incorporated (ASI) elections which resulted in Adonis Galarza's election for Presidency. Many of the concerns primarily come from an issue of underrepresentation of the Black students. Although CSUSB is a diverse campus, the majority, 63% of the student population, is Hispanic which designates it as a Hispanic-serving institution. Transforming Transfers
By Nylles Vernon |Staff Writer| Transfer students from out-of-state colleges and other college institutions share their experiences regarding the transfer process. Helen Nguyen, a biology major who recently transferred from San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC), said that the process was long and tiresome. “I spent about two and a half years at my community college before I was fully ready to transfer. The time I spent there allowed me to get my associate to transfer degree and be admitted into CSUSB,” said Nguyen. BSU tops off Black History Month with some hip-hop lovin’

CSUSB’s Black Student Union recently hosted the annual My Love For Hip-Hop show, a part of their Black History Month set of events. The host of the event, Eddie Hewitt, recapped, “My Love For Hip-Hop is an event that celebrates hip hop history and its impact on culture. Coyote Karma Fundraising Event
By Desirae Contreras |Staff Writer| CSUSB’s first Coyote Karma fundraising event, "What you give is what you get," raised $860 towards scholarships. Coyote Karma raised $430 in student donations and along with the Karnig Scholarship Challenge Match, that amount was doubled to a $860 estimate. The money that was raised will go towards student scholarships. The event was held by the public relations practicum course, Comm 243D, in cooperation with Development and Annual Giving, Student Leadership and Development and Associated Students Inc.
