By Danni Ybarra |Staff Writer| Newly-built University Bar & Grill has potential to be a great local hangout for CSUSB students and surrounding residents. Located at 2999 on W. Kendall Dr., it is open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and closed Sunday and Monday. The new restaurant is the perfect place to stop for a drink after a long day of classes. Having only stopped in once, I have yet to make my final decision on the restaurant as a whole. There were only four other people in the restaurant besides my party of two, and no others arrived during the hour and a half I dined. This was slightly off-putting to me; I … [Read more...] about University Bar & Grill — Restaurant Review
By Danielle Brooks |Staff Writer| Dripp Coffee Bar is a unique cafe that will make coffee lovers everywhere swoon. The eatery is known for their European style coffees and teas, but also specialize in pastries and ice cream sandwiches. Dripp is an up-and-coming franchise, with currently only one location in Chino Hills, but the company is expanding and will open their next location in Fullerton. Not only had I heard fellow Coyotes talk about how delicious Dripp was, but my coworkers also expressed their love for their coffee. The nearest restaurant is at The Shoppes in Chino Hills and since I happened to be in the area recently, I wanted to give their drinks a try. Dripp’s … [Read more...] about Dripp Coffe Bar drops it like it’s hot
By Courtney Mata |Staff Writer| Craving some good food, but don’t want to have to take out another student loan to afford it? Students on a budget should check out Sports Watch Bar and Grill (SWGB) located in Highland for some tasty yet decently priced food. The restaurant is located 12 miles from campus off the 210 freeway and I think it is worth the drive. With over 50 HD television sets on different channels, sport enthusiasts won’t miss a single play. There’s even a TV in the restroom too! When it opened in 2011, SWBG wanted its main focus to be about sports; so when you first enter the bar, you are surrounded by sports memorabilia and TV screens filled with sporting … [Read more...] about Sports bar in Highland offers affordable prices

The time off is to let loose and drink away the nights before we have to come back for the next quarter. Unless you're working during that week, you should be getting ready to have an eventful and relaxing time. Some students are off to the college kid’s dream vacation with bikinis, beaches and booze. Places like Cancun, Hawaii and Palm Springs have been filled with college students since Feb. 9 and they will have a wave of students coming in until mid April. During spring break in these hot-spot destinations, … [Read more...] about Spring break plans- Get to it!
By Kevin Schaefer |Staff Writer| The Lazy Dog Cafe, an up-and-coming restaurant and bar, offers a wide array of tastes under one roof for all the Inland Empire. They have different cuisines such as American, Italian and Chinese, just to name a few. With most locations open every night until midnight, The Lazy Dog Cafe is open for friends to unwind, grub and grab a few drinks after a long day. When you open the doors to the restaurant, you will see a country style waiting area with much wood decor and a high ceiling complete with a wood chandelier. The setting gives a feeling of the comforts of home and is reminiscent of a wooden lodge high in the alps. You almost feel as if … [Read more...] about Lazy Dog: It’s a dog-eat-dog world
By Eric Brown |Online Editor| It's my intention to bring to light some of the finer places to eat around the Inland Empire in this Dinner in the Desert blog. This week I will look at The Salted Pig in Riverside, CA; click on the map to the right for directions and check out my blog below. Located next to the municipal center of Riverside is an exquisite burger bar that specializes in pork manifestations and craft brew. The Salted Pig is easy to miss tucked away next to tall buildings in downtown Riverside, and from the outside it is not ornately adorned, but as soon as you step inside you forget you were standing next to bleak city buildings as you are greeted with its cozy hide-away … [Read more...] about Dinner in the Desert: The Salted Pig
