What many people don’t know are the reasons behind the street art and that it isn’t always gang related. Some street artists are independent, only do legal projects, or have different reasons for their art such as wanting to become famous or simply getting a sense of self accomplishment. “I believe actual art pieces such as murals enhance a city’s culture. Mr. Brainwash, the eccentric filmmaker turned artist whose real name is Thierry Guetta, has seen his image and personal brand explode in recent years. It began in 2008 with his debut art show “Life is Beautiful,” and continueswith his starring turn in graffiti artist Banksy's documentary on the growing street art phenomenon, Exit Through the Gift Shop.
