May 12, 2016 by Kaila Morales 63 Comments

By Kaila Morales |Staff Writer| CSUSB’s baseball team was swept in a four-game series against the nationally ranked Cal Poly Pomona Broncos. The CCAA series opener took place on April 29 at Fiscalini Field, where left-handed pitcher Don Sullivan got the start. Sullivan threw a total of 102 pitches over eight innings, allowing four hits, all singles, no walks and six strikeouts. The Coyotes made their first attempt to score in the third with the bases loaded and only one … [Read more...] about Coyotes go 0-4 against Broncos

By Jessica Bracamontes |Staff Writer| By Spencer Hirsch |Asst. Sports Editor| The Coyotes split their four game series on April 19–21 against the conference leading UC San Diego Tritons. After taking the first two games at home, the Coyotes looked to take the series by winning at least one game, in the doubleheader on April 21 at the Tritons’ home turf. February 17, 2012 by Archived posts Leave a Comment

By Spencer Hirsch |Staff Writer| Senior pitcher Cory Caruso and junior outfielder Matt Winn were instrumental in the Coyotes 6-3 victory at home on Feb. 11 over CSU Dominguez Hills. Caruso notched his first win of the season, as he gave the Coyotes 7 1/3 strong innings, holding the visiting Toros to only three runs. Caruso’s toughest inning came in the top of the seventh. Trailing 5-2, the Toros were threatening with one out and runners on first and second. Caruso had struggled momentarily with his control, as he hit the first batter and walked the third batter, throwing an uncharacteristic wild pitch in the inning as well. This prompted a visit from Coyotes’ pitching … [Read more...] about Caruso and Winn help in big victory
