Megan Haas set the record in 2006 with 1,566 digs, McCullough surpassed Haas with 1,572 digs after their game against Sonoma State University. McCullough ended the week with 1,587 digs and she still has seven more games to set the new Coyote record. “Holding the new record for the program is a huge accomplishment! The feeling is incredible and will be something I never forget,” said McCullough. Volleyball spikes up their road winning streak
By Richard Burrud |Staff Writer| Coyote Women’s Volleyball team took their 6 win in conference play in Saturday’s game against Cal Poly Pomona who is 1-5 in Conference play. The Broncos and Coyotes played three close games with the Coyotes prevailing victorious in all three sets. The highlight plays of Outside Hitter Alexandra Torline and Defensive Specialist Arielle McCullough helped the Coyotes win 25-22 in the first set, 26-24 in the second set, and 25-22 in the third set. Coyote women and CPP started the game with a back and forth battle until the Coyotes took a demanding lead 19-13, but the Broncos came back with six consecutive points to tie the game at 19-19. All-CCAA honors go to five volleyball players
By Megan Acuna | Staff Writer | As if a CCAA championship was not enough to keep the spirits of our women’s volleyball team high, it was recently announced that five players have also earned All-CCAA honors. Those who earned first-team honors were senior setter Camille Smith, senior middle blocker Mercedes Winchester and freshman outside hitter Alexandra Torline. Second-team honors were granted to freshman middle blocker Brenna McIntosh and sophomore libero Arielle McCullough. Women’s volleyball looks to maintain first place status
By Megan Acuna |Staff Writer| Our Coyote volleyball team landed first place in their conference after they ended the first half of CCAA play despite their weekend loss to Cal State East Bay and comeback win against Cal State Monterey Bay Oct. 12 and Oct. 13. After an eight game winning streak, the Lady Yotes gave up a win at home in the Coussoulis Arena in an intense game against Cal State East Bay that went all the way to the fifth set. Head Coach Kim Cherniss believes this loss hasn't affected the team's momentum. "It was a wake up call and a learning experience.
