San Bernardino Humane Society Hosts Annual Fundraiser

Residents of the San Bernardino community gathered to celebrate their pets for Christmas and raised money for animal cruelty investigation.  The Humane Society of the San Bernardino Valley hosted “Santa Paws Pet Photos and Holiday Boutique” on Saturday, November 17th, 2018 from 8:30am to 1:30pm where pets and loved ones got professional photos taken for this upcoming holiday season.  The Santa Paws fundraiser has really grown over the past couple of years according to Jill Henderson, the Director of Development and Community Outreach for the Humane Society of the San Bernardino Valley.  “It started out with just photos of Santa with the pets, but we changed that into getting the 5 … [Read more...] about San Bernardino Humane Society Hosts Annual Fundraiser

Thousands gather for Festival of Lights

  By Veronica Vicente |Staff Writer| The Los Angeles zoo and Botanical Gardens commenced their annual zoo lights festival on Nov.18, which featured thousands of lights and animal installations to spread holiday spirit. The event brought together more than 170,000 visitors and was awarded the Best Choice Travel award by USA today. Among walking inside, there are several lit paths that take you to different exhibitions of the zoo. “The Lair”, which represents for living amphibians, invertebrates and reptiles was the only exhibition open to the public. Welcome to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

By Steffanie Martinez |Staff Writer| On Earth Day in 1995, Disney’s Conservation Fund was established to accomplish a meaningful mission to protect wildlife, wild places, and connect people with nature. Now, 20 years since it started, the fund has contributed $40 million in forms of grants to support hundreds of nonprofit organizations, according to Disney’s newsletter. This has resulted in them being able to protect more than 400 different species. County Museum scores on cultural and natural history

The San Bernardino County Museum, was founded in the early 50’s in Bloomington, California, is a regional type of museum with collections and exhibits relating to cultural and natural history. It moved to its present location in 1974 complete with an upper level, lower level, and an outside to view. Natural History Museum captures moments in time

Walking in, there is a display of two dueling dinosaurs ready to engage in a fight as they welcome the visitors. The museum is made up of a variety of displays that showed different species that lived on different continents throughout a variety of eras. Some of the animals are still commonly seen and some are endangered or extinct species. Life sized displays replicate the animals in their natural habitat. PETA’s treating animals unethically

Many were shocked at the revelations that the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is mistreating animals. The Huffington Post released an article that shed a dark light on the inner workings of PETA by showing pictures of sheltered and surrendered animals being killed at the hands of the organization.
