After a three-week investigation, a marijuana dispensary posed as “The Citadel Church of La Puente” at 15554 Amar Road in La Puente, CA was busted at 1 p.m. on Nov. 15.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department uncovered more than 20,000 dollars worth of marijuana, about four to five pounds.
Authorities also found three small digital scales, 295 dollars in cash, and surveillance equipment inside the “church”.
Through investigation, officials determined the business that was licensed to repair cell phones was selling marijuana, concentrated cannabis such as marijuana wax, and packaged edibles such as chocolate bars without proper permits.
An African American man known to be a gang member and an Asian woman were arrested at the scene to be cited and released shortly after. A Caucasian man was also arrested, identified, and shortly released.
