There are several tips to apply in creating a better day, allowing you some relaxation time in the midst of your busy schedule.

We can take some time out for ourselves to relax by adopting positive changes to take our minds off our schedules and work towards a smooth day.

Helping and caring for others helps us work towards creating a better day for those around us.

CSUSB student Gil Rutherford discusses his idea of creating a brighter day. “Creating a better day can involve helping and cheering up those who are having a tough time or a bad day. That’s what I do; I help those who are down because it creates a better day for me and the person I’m helping.”

First tip: jumpstart your day with a healthy breakfast. We’ve heard the saying, there is always room for improvement. Consider adding something nutritious to your breakfast. It will supply you with the energy you need to get through the day. Eating right contributes to a better you.

A good night’s rest is also essential to an exceptional day. Sleep helps us recharge and allows our minds and bodies to relax. We function better when we are well rested which helps us be attentive throughout the day.

Relaxation is they key, we all need to relax sometime. Take time out of the day to relax and enjoy the moment. Even if its only five or ten minutes of your day: get up, walk around, stretch, close your eyes and simply breathe.

Hayley Correy, a CSUSB student, eats her lunch under a tree during her class break. She explains that it creates a better day for her. “I think that making a better day for me is taking the time in between my classes to relax,” said Correy.

Our social lives are also significant in aspiring to create a better day for ourselves. Go out and socialize with people around you or meet up with your friends at a coffee house. Go visit the library and socialize with other book lovers. The student union has many centers and areas where students can congregate, mingle and meet new people.

Is your day getting better yet? Well if those tips didn’t work, how about considering 30 minutes of exercise a day. You’re working towards your goal of creating a better lifestyle which contributes to good health.

Activities such as Yoga and meditation can help you relax your mind, body and spirit.

Humor and laughter are therapeutic, browse a few jokes or create your own jokes and share them with the people around you. Laughter is the answer.
