Happy Hour at Bostons

If you crave delicious appetizers and cheap drinks, happy hour at Boston’s is the place to go.

Boston’s Restaurant and Sports Bar is a casual chain establishment with the closest location at 16927 Sierra Lakes Pkwy, Fontana.

Upon entering the facility, you immediately see the restaurant with multiple booths and tables to the left. To your right, there was a separate room filled with pub tables and a fully stocked bar on the far left wall marking the sports bar area.

Boston’s offers a wide range of gourmet pizzas, pastas, wings, salads, burgers and sandwiches, along with main dishes such as baby back ribs, lasagna, chicken parmesan, fish and chips amongst others.

Friends who recommended the restaurant raved about the pizza which seems to be the most popular item on the menu.

The cheapest pizza would be an “Indy” pepperoni pizza which goes for $9.59 during regular hours.

After ordering our drinks, we asked for the portion size and the waitress told us they were pretty big, so my friend and I decided to split a plate of “Spicy Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo,” which goes for $13.89, because we weren’t in the mood for pizza.

When the pasta was brought to the table, it looked so deliciously creamy and surprisingly colorful for a pasta because of the tomatoes and broccoli with a hint of dried parsley sprinkled on top.

The pasta wasn’t spicy, in my opinion, but the sun dried tomatoes gave it a nice little kick.

My friend said it had too much sauce and she wasn’t fond of the sun dried tomatoes saying it gave it a “weird, sour taste.”

The waitress informed us happy hour was every day from 3 to 6 pm and 9 pm until closing hours.

We looked at the happy hour menu and were pleased to find out about the low prices, especially for us college students on a low budget.

Wings go for 75 cents during said times.

We decided to go with the mouthwatering Boston’s Cheese Fries: oven-baked french fries loaded with queso, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, bacon, jalapeño peppers, tomatoes, and green onions.

I decided to pair my food with a well margarita which had me a little disappointed because the taste of alcohol was close to non existent.

The atmosphere seemed nice and calm, but it is said to get loud when it is packed and the wait time seems to be longer as well.

“I’m not a fan of rowdy sport’s bars, but this place is not that bad. The food selection is nice along with great happy hour special,” stated yelp reviewer Jay B.

Multiple Yelp reviewers said they wouldn’t waste their money on the jukebox again because they didn’t get to hear the music they paid for.

Negative comments about the establishment said the food quality could be better and the wait time could be elongated during their busy hours, which can be expected.

Overall, Boston’s Restaurant has great food with reasonable prices. Regular hours can be pricey for those of us on a budget, but happy hour is what makes this place a hit for all.
