CSUSB is famous for its windy fall season, which makes it difficult to decide what to wear.
“I do choose to wear more cozy clothes during windy days because I usually wear dresses and I don’t want them to fly anywhere. The wind is usually cold and it’s comforting to throw on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt,” said student Essence Murphy.
Students want to dress comfortably but comfort does not necessarily have to be just a school hoodie and an old pair of jeans.
“My preferred outfits for windy days are a nice coat with boots and a scarf to cover my face from the wind. said student Sandra Lopez. “I choose to dress more comfortable because it is easier to walk around in than a dress.”
Great fall pieces include knitted sweaters, cardigans, leather jackets, over-the-knee socks, scarves, tights, and boots.
Dresses can be a fashion disaster when there are winds up to 60 miles per hour. Some people do not know the climate during this time and walk on campus with their dresses up to their face.
A possible outfit for women would be a nice pair of distressed pants, a flannel, a band t-shirt underneath, a nice chunky gold necklace, and a pair of black combat boots.
Colors that are often seen in fall vary from neutral colors to bolder colors.
There are many places people can find trends for this season.
“I usually shop at Forever 21 because they have cute clothes for cheap!” exclaimed student, Alex Pablo.
A grey Alexander Wang pea coat costs $1,595 while a similar coat can be for $37.90 at Forever 21.
For men it is a little easier to simply choose an outfit out of their closet, “I don’t have to think about windy weather because I will throw on some jeans and a shirt anyways,” said student Carlos Mora.
Michael Kors looks to be a trendsetter for sweaters this fall. however, A black sweater from this famous designer is $295, while a similar sweater can be found at H&M for an more affordable price of $39.95.
The student body already has so many expenses to worry about like tuition, supplies, and books that they forget clothing expenses.
Stores like Forever 21 and H&M are great places that will not break your wallet.
The student body seems to prefer wearing something more comfortable for the longer days, but one can still put on a snazzy outfit and follow up with the seasonal trends.
