As a celebration for the graduates, CSUSB created an event – the hockey game for alumni – for students to watch and enjoy. The Ontario Reign hockey game will take place at the Toyota Arena, on February 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This will allow alumni to reminisce on their college experiences and celebrate with the class they graduated with.

During the game, there will be a Reign hat giveaway. To be eligible for the hat giveaway, one would have to had purchased tickets through the CSUSB website under the Alumni Events tab. The ticket price for the game is $30 per person and seating in sections 215 to 219 will be available. If you wish to celebrate with your fellow students, the Reign game is a way to relive college experiences and enjoy the game as well. The last day to purchase tickets was February 17.

Susana Barbosa, an alumni engagement and marketing coordinator, explains that the Alumni Relations is hosting the Reign game as a way for students and families to watch the game on February 29.

“We typically have communication with our alumni and we ask for suggestions of any events of interest,” Barbosa explains.

Alumni Relations has a group of alumni that give out ideas for any type of events they would like to host. This group was formed as a way for alumni to gather together and be more involved in choosing events that are suitable for students.

”This is a partnership with the Ontario Reign. They know that we are going to be there,” said Barbosa.

The Ontario team is very well known to CSUSB and they know that students are going to be present to support them during the game. Unfortunately, the team does not interact with the students attending the event before or after the game. It is also unknown if any of the players will interact with the students or any of the audiences. Even without the interactions with the team, this event is a once in a lifetime to support the local team.

”It is open to the entire community, not just for alumni,” Barbosa continued. “Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all able to attend.”

This event is also open to anyone who wants to watch the game and can be a great way to celebrate a special occasion. With graduation right around the corner, it might be a great idea to consider attending the game to celebrate your achievements.

Watching Ontario Reign is a good way to cheer the team and reminisce of CSUSB for the last time at the Toyota Arena, where graduation will be held in a few months. Celebrate with your fellow coyote classmates and cheer on the Ontario Reign team to victory!
