The Center for Global Innovation is providing students with an opportunity to complete more units by offering a winter intersession between fall and spring semesters.
The 2020-2021 academic year marks CSUSB’s transition from the quarter to the semester system. Instead of having three quarters for students to be enrolled full-time, they can now only enroll full-time for two semesters.
According to Dr. Tatiana Karmanova, Associate Vice Provost and Dean for the College of Extended and Global Education, “It’s a great opportunity to make progress toward the degree, concentrating on just one course.”
Vanessa Davalos, Program Coordinator, has a few tips for students who decide to sign up for winter intersession. Davalos shared “I do have a few tips. First, “make sure you save your unused fall financial aid to help you pay for your winter tuition. Visit our website, or your myCoyote to browse through the classes being offered. That way you are prepared on enrollment day. Our website is also filled with additional information so, it doesn’t hurt to pay a visit.”
She also stated that enrollment for the Winter Intersession started on November 9. For any questions, she said she is available to answer them through (909) 537-3978.
“Winter Intersession Registration Dates are from November 9 until December 17, 2020,” Davalos continued. “There will also be a late registration fee charged by November 30. The winter intersession will be in progress from December 18, 2020 until January 19, 2021.”
The department is focused on students reaching their educational goals and offering these additional services.
Veronica Crossley, a senior program specialist, shared additional services available to assist students. She said, “Please email [email protected] – we check continuously throughout the day. Emails are replied to usually within 24 hours. Call 909-537-3978 – Voicemails are checked continuously throughout the day. Voicemails are usually responded to within 24 hours.”
Davalos also added, “Students live their college career as learners and we at Winter Intersession want students to take every opportunity to learn, succeed, and move forward in their career. By offering Winter Intersession, we are helping students continue their ‘enviable opportunity to learn.'”
