CFA strike vote tally process

CFA strike 2By Clarissa Toll |News Editor|

Results of the California Faculty Association (CFA) strike authorization vote will be announced Nov. 4, according to a CFA press release.

CFA officers and bargaining team members will be made available on many campuses for comment on the results.

Faculty across 23 CSU campuses voted in-person and online from Oct. 19 through Oct. 28 to determine whether or not to strike if the CFA cannot reach a deal with CSU management that they believe to be fair.

In-person votes will be tabulated by a neutral third-party, according to the CFA press release.

CSU faculty have continued to push for a 5 percent general income increase throughout negotiation, calling it the “fight for five.”

“The Chancellor’s 2 percent is simply not enough to make teaching in the CSU sustainable,” said CFA President Jennifer Eagan.
