Camping tips for Coyotes

Tent camping is a great way to experience the outdoors and enjoy the natural wildlife.

Before you set out on your memorable and wild adventure, research the site and get to know your surroundings and what animals or plants you might encounter.

It is important to be aware of poisonous plants; the three-leafed Poison Ivy, Oak, and Sumac all share the same look but different colors.

“Leaves of three, Let them be!” is a great way to remember.

Always remember when you spot a wild animal, never approach it with food—even if they seem friendly.

Bears are attracted to human food and garbage, therefore increasing the risk of encountering one.

It is vital to bring pepper spray whenever you camp in order to protect yourself against any dangerous animal.

Spraying the animal with pepper spray will not kill them, but it will startle them, giving you a chance to reach a safe distance, according to bearsmart.com.

Also, it is helpful to plan activities to do each day of camping, such as hiking, fishing, or going to a hot spring, etc.

Depending on the season, plan accordingly for possible weather conditions.

Remember, weather can always change, so prepare clothing options for all conditions.

While on this trip, it is important to bring healthy foods and stay hydrated to fuel the body to last during the day doing physical activities.

Last but not least: graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows. Enjoy.
