Baguette Bakery & Café is the ideal mix of tasty sandwiches, great service, and reasonable prices.
Does the word “baguette” make your mouth water?
If so, this is the perfect place for you.
It’s located in Riverside at 767 W Blaine Street, 92507.
The outside appearance of the restaurant is low-key, but I was surprised by the quality of the food served.
“Baguette Bakery is a welcome refresh among the usual suspects of food around Riverside,” stated Vikram S. on Yelp.
As soon as you open the door, the staff welcomes you with a smile.
The space is bright and clean. The old Provençal style décor is simple and cliché—in a nice way.
The menus decorate the wall, introducing you to a variety of food options.
Whether you are a sandwich lover, a salad fan, or the cookie monster, you will find what you’re looking for here.
They offer an assortment of sandwiches and wraps from $3.95 to $8.75.
There is a choice for every taste and a size for every appetite. Two types of bread are available for your sandwich: French baguette or ciabatta.
The baguette was enjoyable. But because I’m French, it wasn’t really my idea of a baguette.
Lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese complement the rosemary chicken—simple and tasty.
“Their signature rosemary chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread is to die for,” stated Tiffany C. on Yelp.
Add $2 and you can make it a meal with a soda and a side: French fries, chips, cookies, or a salad.
But sandwiches aren’t the only option on the menu.
You can also enjoy a selection of hot foods served with homemade garlic bread and a garden salad.
They make lasagnas, spaghetti and marinara, chicken Parmesan, soups and more, ranging from $3.75 to $8.25.
If your quota of leafy greens needs to be fulfilled, check out their selection of salads.
Everything tasted great and was in generous quantity and you could see the ingredients used were fresh.
The amount of food was perfect. It was just enough to be full and not waste anything.
I even had some space left for one of their desserts. I chose the cookies, but they also had some nice-looking brownies.
“They are so moist and delicious,” stated Nicole M. on Yelp.
All of their dishes are a healthy alternative to the fast-food meals that students love.
Plus, the prices were more than reasonable and they offer a student discount. It was definitely money well spent.
On their website they state: “We’re more than just tasty food. We’re a cozy welcome and an easy escape – great with friends or all by yourself.”
And I agree.
