Motley 2 takes fans into wild side
By Veronica Vicente |Arts & Entertainment Editor| The San Manuel Indian Bingo Casino (San Manuel Casino) had gamblers and audience members on their feet as tribute band Motley 2 took the stage on Jan. 30. Motley 2 is the internationally-touring tribute to Motley Crue, that captures the entire look, charisma and sound that Motley Crue fans know and love. Motley 2 went on stage at 7 p.m. and commenced the second part of their performance at 9 p.m. The band performed in the second floor of the casino inside of the rock and roll themed restaurant called Rock and Brews. Thousands gather for Festival of Lights
By Veronica Vicente |Staff Writer| The Los Angeles zoo and Botanical Gardens commenced their annual zoo lights festival on Nov.18, which featured thousands of lights and animal installations to spread holiday spirit. The event brought together more than 170,000 visitors and was awarded the Best Choice Travel award by USA today. Among walking inside, there are several lit paths that take you to different exhibitions of the zoo. “The Lair”, which represents for living amphibians, invertebrates and reptiles was the only exhibition open to the public. Dia de Los Muertos at Hollywood Forever Cemetery
By Veronica Vicente |Staff Writer| Hollywood Forever Cemetery, hosted their 17th annual "Dia de Los Muertos" festival on Oct. 29. The festivities started at noon and ran until midnight and ticket prices ranged from $10 for children and $20 for adults. This was a popular event, with thousands of people attending. The streets were full of vendors selling home cooked foods and sweets, as well as sugar skull masks and accessories. The crowds were full of people wearing vibrant colors and the traditional sugar skull makeup. Floasis at Back to the Grind
By Veronica Vicente |Staff Writer| On Oct. 21 the Riverside coffee shop, Back To the Grind, held its monthly poetry slam competition, called "Floasis." Upon arriving at about 7 p.m., the coffee shop's first floor was full of people who appeared to be studying or on the couch socializing with their friends. I ordered a caramel Frappuccino, although it was not on the menu, the barista happily created the drink I asked for . As the barista prepared drinks for the customers, the room was filled with the coffee aroma. The cover charge was $7 dollars and included a raffle ticket to be entered in a drawing to win prizes. Fashion week in New York featured thousands of countless styles from popular designers. The color of pumpkin spice was a reoccurring trend from fashion week that featured pieces of clothing.
