By Maylyne Togafau |Staff Writer| Option House Program Director, Gloria Amaya and Intern Randall Gupton join Coyote Radio and Coyote Chronicle to talk about domestic violence and the services they offer to fight it. Option House Inc. has served victims of domestic violence since 1977. Their annual 10k walk-a-thon raises money for the San Bernardino shelter. Can you tell us about the work you do as the Program Director of Option House? Gloria: My job is to effectively develop and enhance the programs that we offer our clients. Dear Red White and Blue People

By Maylyne Togafau |Staff Writer| If you genuinely believe that you live in an America where all men (and women) are created equal, this article is not for you. As a person of color (POC) in America’s climate today, talking openly and effectively about racial issues is arguably as hard as covertly enduring them. Netflix’s Dear White People presents a satirical show that, in contrast to its title, has more to do with interracial relations than it does the race in which the title is addressed. The 10-episode series touches countless issues plaguing a college campus: gender and sexuality, domestic/dating violence, financial insecurity, privacy concerns/hacking, drugs and alcohol, … [Read more...] about Dear Red White and Blue People

Cherstin Lyon, history department coordinator, expressed her excitement for the event because of the relevance and importance of the route to San Bernardino since it could be beneficial to the students and community. The documentary reveals untold stories from families and … [Read more...] about Behind Every Woman

By Maylyne Togafau |Staff Writer| We’ve created a dating and relationship advice column, largely dependent on reader contribution because we want to have the hard conversations about our the relationships now before it’s too late. It’s second nature to share highlights of our lives with the worldwide web, but in turn, we’ve forgotten how to talk about issues like domestic violence with the people closest to us. On April 10, 2017, in San Bernardino, a man entered his estranged wife’s North Park Elementary School classroom and opened fire, fatally shooting her and an 8-year-old student, before taking his own life in what police reported to be a domestic dispute. This tragedy hits … [Read more...] about Domestic violence: Let’s really talk about it
