San Bernardino is not exactly considered to be the gaming center of Southern California, but a growing community, one driven student leader, and the local college's student union are looking to change that. Note: The story was corrected for the accuracy of the facts on Nov. 22nd, 2019. After four years of planning and two years of construction, CSUSB's newest building is open and available for use. Students are already eating, studying, and socializing in the building's large shaded plaza. The building contains 24 classrooms with the newest state-of-the-art technologies. Many of these classrooms are supplied with interconnected smart boards, smart screens, and smart carts, giving the professor more ease and control. LGBTQ+ students share their stories at Coming Out Monologues
CSUSB’s LGBTQ community gathered on October 9 for the annual Coming Out Monologues open mic event. The Santos Manuel Student Union’s Queer and Transgender Resource Center hosted the event to participate in National Coming Out Day. Multiple students got up to tell their stories at the SMSU theater. The event provided a space for the LGBTQ community to provide support and insight to one another through sharing their struggles with coming out as queer and/or transgender. San Bernardino Mayoral Candidates Take Questions
Mayor Davis responded to the public's questions with his current plans of action which are already in place, while Valdivia promised that he would fix the city's problems faster and more effectively than Davis has. The running theme of Valdivia's answers was that the city is in need of real leadership, which he can provide. He said that the council he sits on is the one that makes all of the tough decisions.
