Interested in on campus entertainment? Many CSUSB departments are hosting events around campus right now, but perhaps one of the most popular as of late is the plays and performances being hosted by the Theater Arts department and collection of performers involved with the department. They provide great productions and forms of entertainment to all of us on campus as well as the public surrounding our campus. Banners and posters have popped up around campus inviting students to information sessions and urging them to see an academic counselor. Yet some students are still unsure how the conversion will affect them. “I'm just worried about how this will affect my graduation track,” said 1st year English major Dominique. On the night of October 30, 2019, a slew of ravaging, brush fires broke out just a half-mile into the mountains located directly north of local San Bernardino neighborhoods only about a mile away from the campus. Local firefighters and medical staff rushed to help contain the blaze before it spread through the many neighborhoods it surrounded. At around 11 p.m., local law enforcement started to wrap up their evacuations of the surrounding neighborhoods. Recently, CSUSB has announced that, in Fall 2020, the campus will be converting from a quarter system to a semester system, and some of the students who will be affected by the conversion gave us their thoughts. “I think it’ll mess up people who are going to be in the middle of the conversion. I’m from a semester system in community college, and now I’m getting used to the quarter, but then I’ll have to go back to semester. I think it’ll definitely get confusing.
