CSUSB Jazz Concert Nights

Coming back from victorious sets at the Reno Jazz Festival last month, the CSUSB Jazz group showcased their talent with unique sets on May 15 and 17 at the school’s recital hall. The Jazz Combo and Vocal Ensemble performed songs from the various eras, which included “Canvas” by Robert Glasper, “Lonnie’s Lament” by John Coltrane, "Man In The Mirror" by Michael Jackson, and "With A Little Help From My Friends" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The Jazz Combo night was directed by professor Kristopher Sveen and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble was directed by professor Bradley Hampton. CSUSB Radio Recognized For Its Excellence

The CSUSB Coyote Radio program "My Awesome Empire" was recognized by the 2018 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System College Awards. Though the team is taking a break on production, they are pleased to accept the recognition. For six seasons they interviewed business owners and people with interesting stories of the Inland Empire. The team consists of CSUSB student producers, interviewers, writers, editors and journalists from the undergraduate and masters program. "My Awesome Empire" was launched by Lacey Kendall in 2012 to give students the reward of talking to people and at the same time find out what inspires them. Ticketing Without Barriers

With the Coachella Music and Arts Festival kicking off the festival season and more events around the corner, event-goers should take into consideration a movement that has started seeking to make music festival ticket purchases trouble-free for the deaf and disabled. The Attitude is Everything charity has started an initiative and coalition with other organizations called "Ticketing Without Barriers." This proposal addresses the issues that arise for people with disabilities when trying to purchase tickets to a music event.
