After 32 years, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series. For more than three decades, Dodgers fans all across the country have been waiting to see their beloved southern California team take the gold. Over the last month, millions of Americans have cast their votes on whether to keep President Trump at the White House or to elect a new leader for the nation. As of November 7, Joe Biden has become the projected president-elect. According to U.S. Elections Project, almost 60 million Americans had already submitted their ballots prior to Election Day. Students receive advice on financial management
CSUSB’s "Here to Career" internship program held an accounting webinar for students who would like to know more about money management. LaVonne Shields, an accountant who guides people on how to manage their money for their business, hosted the seminar. The topics of discussion had a focus on how to understand the financial flow of a business, which included looking at bank statements and the cost of goods and sales. Students also received advice on how to earn and save money. One of the things that Shields talked about was the risk of loans, specifically the risk of the lender and the debtor. With gyms being open again across Southern California, people are rushing back to their workout routines. Some of these workouts include supersets, drop sets, and burnouts. However, if you are getting tired of the same exercises and want to try something new in a short amount of time, there is one called Accelerated Results 7 (AR-7). AR-7 is a full body, circuit style workout that uses low reps, low weight, and, most importantly, low rest. Talent recruiters discuss employment opportunities during COVID-19
The CSU Entertainment Alliance held a virtual event teaching students about how to get hired during this pandemic. Five speakers from the entertainment industry spoke during the event, discussing a variety of topics. When the topic of resumés and cover letters was brought up, Shari Holly, host of the seminar and Director of Operations for CSU, explained that jotting down all the jobs one has can potentially hurt the applicants chances. Holly said, “When you are putting down the list of jobs you had on your resumé, quality vs quantity can do more harm than good."
