Student success, especially at the collegiate level, can be motivationally challenging even for the most dedicated students. Between balancing a social, academic and professional life it can be a difficult task to stay focused on studies, but one thing seems to remain helpful when students need to keep their heads in the books. As I walked around CSUSB one day I couldn't help but notice just about everyone I saw on their laptops or reading their textbooks had headphones in. Some were even bobbing their heads to the beat of whatever they were listening to. I thought about it for a moment and realized I do the same when I study or write a paper. I believe music is helping me and … [Read more...] about Listening to music while studying

Animation is Real
Ever since I was young, I have felt an incredible attachment to animation series of all types. Cartoons have fueled my love for life more than almost anything else I have known. A lot of my intelligence, spunk, and creativity can be attributed the cartoons I hold close to my heart. I remember watching any cartoon ever in my parent’s home. I’d be minding my own business, happy as can be, and most likely lying on the floor with my feet in the air. Then my father would come in, take one look at the television and say, “Can’t you ever watch something intelligent?” To me this question was so absurd that I could only respond by sticking my tongue out and making a fart noise, only to carry … [Read more...] about Animation is Real
Local Artist: James McClung
James McClung is a visual artist based in Redlands who has made a positive impact on the community with his gallery pieces, murals and logo designs for various businesses.
