Everyone deserves to feel safe and protected and to know that the law is on their side. So why are there innocent black people being killed by the very people who are supposed to protect them? LINK program hopes to help transfer and continuing students
CSUSB's Second Year Mentoring Program was renamed to Lead, Innovate, Network, and Know (LINK) Program at the end of Fall 2019. The program continues to serve with a new focus on becoming more inclusive and providing extensive help and guidance to the student body. “This program first started as a second year mentoring, but we felt that everyone can benefit from what LINK has to offer," CSUSB Alumna and University of Redlands graduate student, Carolina Meza, said. Faculty senate held its first remote meeting
Senators and prominent guests discussed policies from a pre-approved agenda, questions on campus access, spring parking fees’ reimbursement, and the possibility of grading all students as pass or fail. The meeting took place on April 7, 2020. President Morales did not participate. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Shari McMahan, and Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Development, Seval Yilderim, along with the deans of various colleges, were in attendance. 2020 Chinese Spring Festival Celebration
By Cyan Capiak Chinese Spring Festival Celebration, organized by the CSUSB Chinese Student Association and sponsored by Associate Students, Incorporated, Center of International Studies & Programs, Cross Cultural Center, and University Diversity Committee, is taking place on January 31, 2020, in the SMSU event center. Students guided on the trek to receive scholarships
Financial Aid Advisor, Andrea Cowser, of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships presented the online process for scholarship applications at CSUSB on January 16, 2020. Before applying for the scholarships, Cowser noted that in order to be considered for CSUSB scholarships, a completion of the FAFSA for the academic year of 2020-2021 will need to be filled out already. “We highly recommend that you actually file the 2020-2021 FAFSA application. So many of our CSUSB scholarships are need-based, so we do require student applicants to complete a FAFSA application,” she clarified. New mentoring program added
This fall quarter of 2019 marks the beginning of Coyote PLUS's Peer Mentoring Program: Second-Year Experience. It is part of the Coyote PLUS Programs which include Student Mentoring: First Year Experience, Supplemental Instruction, and Tutoring. Carolina Meza is the lead coordinator of the program. She along with the University of Redlands graduate students, Angelica Sweeney, Breena Lizaola and Evan Tellez, help to train the six mentors to provide help to the 60 mentees during the upcoming fall quarter.
