The sport that has been a part of our school since 1984 and has had a long history of ups and downs. The history of this program is unique compared to others at CSUSB because there have only been two coaches throughout the 33 years the team has been around. The first coach to lead the Coyotes in the NCAA Division III was Naomi Ruderman, who led the team to a 9-4 overall season record in her first year. End of the road for softball seniors

Seniors Cassandra Williams, Jessica Angulo and Caelan Smith keep their heads high after their historic season. “It was honestly the best season I could have asked for my senior year. Going to Regionals and going to the CCAA tournament was the best feeling. Last year we came half a game short, so to come back and see that all the hard work we had done paid off was a great feeling,” said outfielder, Smith. History of Coyote cross country
By Alexis De La Cruz |Staff Writer| Cross Country has been a part of Cal State San Bernardino Athletics from the very beginning in 1984, adding to the history books with each year that passes by. The cross-country team competed at the Division III level for the first seven years, at a time when competition faced in dual meets. The squad collected 35 wins out of 39 meets and made seven straight appearances in the NCAA Division III West Regional. Despite relative success, the program was discontinued in 1991. History of CSUSB Golf
By Alexis De La Cruz |Staff Writer| Golf has a long and prestigious history, that can be dated back to 1457. Golf at CSUSB has a been around since 1986 and has an impressive history. CSUSB introduced golf as a part of the athletics program in 1986. Competing in NCAA Division III, golfers set out to bring back glory to San Bernardino. Straight out of the gate the CSUSB Golf team made 13 trips to the national championship tournament. The team brought home third place finishes in 1988, 1997 and 1998. If you ask people why they are fans of their favorite sports team, many would answer because their parents were also fans of the team.
