From a grim and bleak childhood to motivational speaker and author

Kevon Lee did not let his childhood and adolescent years define who he wanted to become. At the young age of five years old, Lee was placed in the foster care system due to being shot during a drug-related incident that involved his parents. After graduating high school, Lee flipped his lifestyle upside down. He became a fitness advocate, a motivational speaker for the youth, author, and activist for anti-bullying.  Lee graduated from CSUSB with his Bachelors degree. CSUSB Symphony Orchestra performance returns after two years

The CSUSB Symphony Orchestra returned with a heightened performance after two years without a live audience.  The performance featured the 2021-2022 Young Artist Competition finalists Eliana Jeong playing the cello and Juan Del Real playing the clarinet. Returning finalists from the 2019-2020 Young Artist competition Andrew Bora playing the cello, Joshua Rodriguez-Irons playing the violin, and Judith Nuñez-Larios on the saxophone. Over the past two years, the CSUSB Symphony Orchestra and CSUSB Music Department has continued to produce music and performances through various forms of online conditions. Student evicted from home after testing positive for COVID-19

By Anthony Teig, Ezra Yirgu, and Chris West Zachary Camarena, a 24 year old attending CSUSB, contracted the coronavirus in late February. After discovering that their son tested positive for the virus, Camarena's parents did not allow him to return home, forcing Camarena to ask a friend for help. “The most difficult part of it all, is the worry of the health and safety of my parents” says Camarena, who’s biggest concern was his family’s well-being. For him, it was the only way to protect his family with underlying conditions. “Both of my sisters, their husbands, as well as my nieces and nephews got the virus as well,” Camarena said. Video games help students unwind and connect

A common notion of the video gaming community is that it’s mainly unproductive and destructive for college students. Multiple students share their stories on how gaming has impacted their priorities, skill development, friendships, and their overall lifestyle. Video gaming is a case by case topic, but some similarities can be found. CSUSB third year history major, Nathan Arguello, expressed that he averages around four to six hours of playing video games a day. He said his daily amount usually “revolves around his schedule for the day” depending on his shift at work, activities with his church, and wanting to hang out with friends.
