Fall-la-la in love this holiday season

November 13, 2017 by Brittany Stiner Leave a Comment

If bowling, pumpkin patches, and watching scary movies weren’t your thing, then this follow-up with fun winter date ideas will make you and your significant other want to stand underneath that mistletoe.

December is such a romantic time of year, not only because it’s “cuffing season,” but because who doesn’t like to walk hand-in-hand with their special somebody while looking at Christmas lights or spinning around on an ice skating rink?

Sports games may not be for everybody, but this time of year is perfect for the hockey and basketball fans. Step out of your comfort zone, and head down to Anaheim or even Los Angeles if you are up for the drive. While you’re there, fill up on popcorn, beer, and cheer for the winning team.

While you’re out in Los Angeles, right across the street from the Staples center, LA Live is beaming with Christmas lights, and the most popular attraction is the ice skating rink. The rink is

open from Nov. 25 through Dec.15, so make sure you head down as soon as you can.

Every year The Mission Inn, in downtown Riverside, throws on the biggest holiday event of the season. Not only do they have Christmas lights, but they have fun antique shops you can walk through and so many different treats that you and your date can enjoy. Stroll

through the hotel’s front doors and don’t forget to look up because there is a giant mistletoe waiting for you.

Even though we don’t get a lot of rain in Southern California, that doesn’t mean our mountains don’t get any snow. Drive up to Big Bear, or Arrowhead and rent out an Airbnb for the two of you. Play in the snow and build a snowman, or maybe even have a snowball fight.

For some thrills, rent or bring up your own snow gear and travel down the slopes on that snowboard, skis, or a sled if you want to do something cute and less strenuous. At night, look at the stars, and for once enjoy the crystal-clear skies with hot chocolate in one hand and your babe in the other.

Alright, some people were not made for the cold and staying inside is where it’s at. Tell your baby it’s cold outside and go down to the local grocery store, or even Target, to get some gingerbread houses so that you can sit inside and build them together while binge watching your favorite holiday classics. Just like with the pumpkin carvings, turn it into a competition and see who has the most holiday cheer.

The best repeating factor of the holiday season is the Christmas lights. The best way to spend a romantic evening is hopping in the car in pajamas, or sweatpants with a thermos of hot chocolate. Drive around blasting Christmas music and find the best streets with the most dazzling lights. This will be a real bonding experience for the new couples and a chance to rekindle for those already in a romantic relationship.

So this season, round up your babe and your fuzziest sweater and get into the winter spirit with some of these festive holiday date ideas.
