Goodbye to some of worst music 2012 offered and hello 2013.
This year will bring back some of the greatest musical acts from the 90s back into the spotlight such as Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, and Beyoncé Knowles.
They’re scheduled to release new albums this year with their newly platforms to help benefit them.
During the 90s Mariah Carey dominated the Billboard charts racking up 18 number one hits, the most of any solo artist, selling over 200 million albums worldwide, earning the title twice of “Song of the Decade” with her smash singles “One Sweet Day” and “We Belong Together” for both decades in the 90s and 00s. She has been named one the greatest female artist of all time.
Currently, Carey is using American Idol as a new platform to expose her upcoming untitled album to million of viewers. Last year, Carey released a single “Triumphant,” when it became her 16th new number one hit on the Billboards Hot Dance Clubs.
Disney has announced that Carey has recorded a song, “Almost Home” for the upcoming film Oz the Great and Powerful. She co-wrote and co-produced the single which will be released Feb. 19.
Another highly anticipated album is from no other than Justin Timberlake, who was the lead singer of the famous 90s pop group N’Sync. Since then he’s become an force to be reckon with.
He recently released his first single “Suit & Tie,” featuring Jay Z off his upcoming album The 20/20 Experience which is due out March 19. The single was released a couple days prior before the reopening of the revamped new Myspace, in which Timberlake owns part of.
Recently, he just revealed his upcoming album cover with a track list of ten hand written songs.
Timberlake is scheduled to perform at the post-Grammy this month.
Another huge star, Beyoncé Knowles, the lead singer of one of the greatest female R&B groups Destiny Child made a huge comeback at the Superbowl halftime show.
Since departing from Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé has become one of the biggest international superstars this decade with achievements of obtaining 16 Grammys.
Billboard has honored Knowles with Artist of the Millennium award. She joins Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson to be the only three artists to accomplish such a feat.
This past weekend Beyoncé stunned footballs fans with a energetic performance of her platinum hit singles.
During one point of the performance former group members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams shocked Destiny’s Child fan as they popped out from the stage to give Knowles a helping hand in dancing and singing Knowles hit song “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”
It is not known if the performance was a publicity stunt to expose Beyoncé’s new upcoming tour The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and untitled album which is due out later this year.
Pepsi is funding Knowles upcoming with album and is reportedly costing the company $50 million for the endorsement.
What we do know is that 2013 is sure making up for 2012.
