With the change of seasons comes refreshing and new trends, including hairstyles.
When we think of new trends, we often think about a new wardrobe. But we forget all of the fun and exciting things people can do with their hair.
Whether you have straight, curly or wavy hair, the hair color and styling options are limitless.
It’s no secret we all love a great hairstyle, but we love an effortless hairstyle even more!
I personally, am a firm believer in “the darker the better” during fall season. There’s no such thing as “too dark.”
This is the season to be bold and experiment with different lips and hair colors. This is the only time of the year you can go dark brown or black and get away with it.
‘Tis the season to be bold. So go out and play with your hair. You might love what you come up with!
Some of the most popular trends at the moment include: ponytails, braids, bangs, natural waves, buns, slicked side parts, and even deep side parts.
Ponytails: Instead of just throwing your hair up, try for an edgier approach and go for a bouncy (curly) or the complete opposite and get in touch with your inner Beyonce and try a middle part with slicked sides for a sleek ponytail.
Buns: Everyone’s go-to hairstyle for when you’re in a rush. Messy buns are the cutest and will take about a min to achieve. Try adding a few braids, curls or go for a low bun for a more polished look.
Bangs: An immediate way to add fullness to flat, fine or boring hair. Moreover, it looks great on any hair type or hairstyle. However, if you aren’t ready for that kind of commitment, you can always try clip-on bangs.
Braids: From 3 strands to fishtails, box braids and waterfalls, there are multiple techniques to play with. The great thing about braids is that they compliment nearly any face shape.
Natural Waves: You can embrace your natural curls and coils by adding some curl enhancing product into your hair. Then you can play with a middle part, deep side part or slicking your parts to make it look a little more sophisticated. Definitely my go-to hairstyle.
Kinky Curly hair: You were probably blessed with gorgeous hair. For this hair type you can play with goddess braids, box braids and Marley twists.
Almost all of these previously mentioned hairstyles have three things in common: they work for all hair types, they require little to no effort and most importantly they’re cute and can completely pull your look together!
As far as hair color, the top 6 colors that were trending on the runways this season according to Marie Claire were:
Colored: Blocked roots aka “drastic roots”: extremely low maintenance. Basically all you do is dye your hair a lighter color than your natural hair and let your roots grow and don’t a re-touch in months. Ex: Kylie Jenner’s weaves.
Auburn: A reddish/brown color. Ranges in shades from chestnut red, to chocolate cherry. Ex: Emma Stone
Balayage: A free hand form of highlights. Lightening powders are used to give your hair a gradient effect. Ex: Khloe Kardashian
Candy Dip Dye: Consists of dyeing the tips of your hair a bright or pastel color. Basically, dying your hair to look like “My Little Pony.” Usually involves bleaching the hair, but another alternative would be using already colored extensions or hair chalk. Ex: Lady Gaga
