Waba Grill sears on to the culinary scene with a delicious, healthy teriyaki-bowl-style menu.

With the succulent taste of their quality meat, delicately steamed vegetables, and delectably fresh avocado, Waba Grill continues to excel in its new location at the up-and-coming Kendall Plaza.

Waba Grill is known for its variety and freshness in its take on teriyaki-style food.

Upon entering the edifice, one is greeted warmly by the staff and further enticed with a caressing aroma of charbroiled chicken, steaming vegetables, and the scent of teriyaki sauce.

Each dish is prepared to order and is guaranteed fresh considering one can see the cooks preparing your meal as one waits to be called.

Owner Henry Olivier said he wishes to bring “healthy choices and variety that attracts, is affordable and clean.”

From my experience, Waba Grill certainly exceeds expectations. The location is very clean, the employees were quite friendly and the food divine while at a reasonable price.

“There is a need for something like Waba Grill,” added Olivier regarding the location of the restaurant.

The culinary palate of the masses appears to be changing, leaning towards healthier cuisine rather than the processed junk readily available at the drive-thru window.

Waba grill becomes a more tantalizing option, especially for the college campus crowd where the goal is to avoid or lose the dreaded “Freshmen 15.”

IMG_7168The décor within was simple but with a very modern feel to it, the color scheme was rather nice with marble granite tiles, black chairs juxtaposing white walls, and an accent, butternut-squash wall.

The menu contains quite a variety in the options available for bowls, plates, and platters from chicken and beef to fish for the meat lovers to simply vegetables for the animal lovers.

The meat is high quality with trimmed-off fat, which makes for a luscious bite of meat—in this case chicken as is my preference.

The brown rice is cooked to perfection bringing reminiscence of my grandmother’s rice, and the avocado is amazing, so soft yet still firm and bursting with flavor.

The teriyaki sauce, which of course is the main attraction, is unparagoned in its sweet yet slightly salty zest.

I for one am a fan of the chicken bowl with brown rice, instead of white, with added avocado, as Waba Grill has the best avocado I have had in a franchise restaurant—very fresh and ripe.

Ergo that is what I ordered when I went in; I did not have to wait long before my name was called and I was handed a steaming bowl of deliciousness.

My experience at Waba Grill has been exceptional every single time and I would recommend it to absolutely everyone.
