Despite this increased community visibility, the amount of support has been relatively limited for San Bernardino County, which is the largest county in the country. This prompted the opening of a new supportive housing shelter in the heart of the city of San Bernardino designed especially for those who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Changing Clothes

The “Out of Your Closet & Into Ours” clothing drive is devoted to helping students who are trying to find themselves and do not have access to gender-encouraging clothing. Newly or gently-used clothing must be washed before donation. Pride Center is an organization that focuses on the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex students and their allies that welcomes all genders to a friendly environment. Now imagine doing everything you could in your power to change the way you look, feel and act. Chaz Bono, the only child of celebrities Sonny and Cher, lived this life, and shared his story with CSUSB faculty, staff and students on Tuesday, May 13, in the Santos Manuel Student Union. LGBTQQIA community comes “Out in Words”
By Marissa Mooney |Staff Writer| The Pride Center presented one of their Coming Out events, “Coming Out in Words” on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Student Union. Throughout campus, the Pride Center advertises its events for the month of October in conjunction with the National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11. The Santos Manuel Student Union was turned into an open forum of storytelling, spoken word and other forms of creative expression to commemorate the Coming Out occasion. By Antonio Sanchez |Staff Writer| Sex, love and spirituality; these topics are not the norm for discussion at many universities, but CSUSB students share their experiences for solidarity. Students shared their life experiences related to these topics in the Pride Center on Nov. 8. The event was a welcomed distraction for many from the cold breezes this month has brought along.
