Additional Support for LGBTQIA+ Comes to San Bernardino

By Caitlyn Kautzman Support for the LGBTQIA+ community has been growing steadily with increased visibility and acceptance from society. Despite this increased community visibility, the amount of support has been relatively limited for San Bernardino County, which is the largest county in the country. Changing Clothes

By Nylles Vernon |Staff Writer| The SMSU Pride Center is hosting a clothing drive to help provide clothing to transgender individuals. The “Out of Your Closet & Into Ours” clothing drive is devoted to helping students who are trying to find themselves and do not have access to gender-encouraging clothing. Newly or gently-used clothing must be washed before donation. Pride Center is an organization that focuses on the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex students and their allies that welcomes all genders to a friendly environment. Chaz Bono takes CSUSB through his transformation

Now imagine doing everything you could in your power to change the way you look, feel and act. Chaz Bono, the only child of celebrities Sonny and Cher, lived this life, and shared his story with CSUSB faculty, staff and students on Tuesday, May 13, in the Santos Manuel Student Union. LGBTQQIA community comes “Out in Words”

By Marissa Mooney |Staff Writer| The Pride Center presented one of their Coming Out events, “Coming Out in Words” on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Student Union. Throughout campus, the Pride Center advertises its events for the month of October in conjunction with the National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11. The Santos Manuel Student Union was turned into an open forum of storytelling, spoken word and other forms of creative expression to commemorate the Coming Out occasion. Students shared their life experiences related to these topics in the Pride Center on Nov. 8. The event was a welcomed distraction for many from the cold breezes this month has brought along. The SMSU is alive with the sound of music

The lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and ally community gathered together to have a great night with peers and listen to amazing music.
