Local internships provide valuable experiences for students

School districts across the Inland Empire and High Desert have created opportunities for college students to intern in various departments at various school sites to gain valuable work experience in managerial positions. School districts such as Hesperia Unified School District and San Bernardino City Unified School District are promoting opportunities for local college students to participate in internships. Many California State University, San Bernardino, students take part in having an internship experience during their time at CSUSB and can put it on their resume for their future endeavors. Spring Job and Internship Fair

Dressed to impress, students took the next step to further their network and prepare for life after college. Over 40 employers gathered in the CSUSB student union on April 17, informing students about the various internship and job opportunities they offer. This event was open to students of every year and major. It was hosted by the Career Center. Those interested in attending were advised to bring their resume and a good attitude. Registration was encouraged but not required. Some of the employers in attendance included Target Corp., Prudential Advisors, The Hershey Co., Verizon and Enterprise Holdings. Emerging Leaders class graduates in Palm Desert

The 2018 graduating class of Emerging Leaders held their completion ceremony at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa on May 11. Consisting of 14 students from College of the Desert and the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus, the eight-month Emerging Leaders program allowed them to tour local Coachella Valley businesses and practice professional skills necessary to assume leadership roles in the community. Emerging Leaders was first created in 2016 by the chair of the Education Committee for the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce Diane Kovalsky. The Career Center, located in University Hall on the third floor in room 329, offers services such as resume building, job interview training, and personality assessments to match with majors for students fearful of entering the workforce. Financial Aid Management Association returns to campus

The FMA is an international association that has over 200 chapters worldwide.
