Is Coachella really all that inclusive?

There are now designated safe places for those that are a part of the LGBTQ+ community at Coachella. However, is this a step forward considering the owner of Coachella has previously donated to anti-LGBTQ+ organizations? The Coachella music festival is very well known amongst a wide variety of people. It is so popular that many celebrities and influencers arrive and participate in it. Since the festival is given so much attention, it has an opportunity to spread a positive message for the LGBTQ+ community. Latinx Center emphasizes the importance of inclusive language

The United States is considered to have an individualistic culture, emphasizing that people are independent and autonomous. With an incredibly diverse population, it’s not uncommon for individuals to struggle with understanding the identity of others, and in some cases, even their own. As a society that still struggles to grow out of the customs of the dominant culture, we can start by changing the way we speak and our choice of words. CSUSB discusses the relevance of pronouns

The campus community gathered to gain a fundamental understanding about why pronouns matter in CSUSB Human Resources' collaboration with the Latinx Task Force. They believe that incorporating gender inclusive language into everyday life will help take another step towards equality. The Latinx Task Force is a volunteer-driven coalition working to promote community health and wellness. Presenters at this event included members Jenifer Metz and Mayra Serrano.
