Religious clubs fight CSU policy

By Aimee Villalpando  |Staff Writer| Christian groups at some CSU campuses believe they are being stripped of recognition due to their refusal to sign a new policy that requires clubs and organizations to allow any student to become a member or leader. The all-comers policy resulted from a 2010 U.S. Supreme court ruling that upheld the right of a law school in California to deny recognition to a Christian student group that excluded homosexuals. Groups that refused to comply with the new policy, such as InterVarsity, can still meet on campus but are no longer funded by campus associations or allowed to participate in student fairs. Students campaign for funding higher education

Tiffiny Gaston |Staff Writer| With college tuition on the rise and the funding for higher education on the decline, the Campaign for the Future of Higher Education (CFHE) has stepped in to find ways to fund education. The main focus of the CFHE is to help faculty, staff and students voice their opinions on funding for higher education. If education is not funded, California will reach zero funding for public higher education in 2052. According to CFHE, state support for higher education will zero out in 24 other states, leaving roughly 10 states with continued support by 2100.
