The Coachella music festival is very well known amongst a wide variety of people. It is so popular that many celebrities and influencers arrive and participate in it. Since the festival is given so much attention, it has an opportunity to spread a positive message for the LGBTQ+ community. The owner of Coachella is known for donating to many anti-LGBTQ+ organizations and is seen as the “enemy of equality.'' NOCHELLA

May 15, 2019 by Ruth Marrero 85 Comments

NO COA CHELLA By: Dayna Doidge & Ruth Marrero This year, young adults are opting out of going to the famous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. According to students at CSUSB, the cost to attend is the most common reason for not being in the Coachella crowd, though they would want to be. Financial insecurity was the number one response when asked why students were not going to Coachella this year. According to Coachella’s official website, www.coachella.com, one general admission ticket starts at $429.00 while the most “luxurious” camping option goes for a cool $9,500.00. In addition to the admission ticket, festival-goers have to account for transportation, … [Read more...] about NOCHELLA

Coachella: Why You Should Make One Trip in Your Lifetime

April 24, 2018 by Brittany Stiner 8 Comments

Winter has disappeared, the rain has stopped and spring is finally here. When winter turns to spring, Coachella-goers come out of their 9-to-5 jobs and start prepping for the weekend of their lives. The 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will begin this Friday, April 13 and last through the weekend. Some make it an annual trip and travel from all parts of the world to go to this weekend festival in the desert, but some people are left out altogether and haven't even tasted a Coachella experience. I will never forget my first Coachella experience, piling into my best friend's Honda Accord back in 2013, packed to the brim with Coachella camping essentials, painting the back … [Read more...] about Coachella: Why You Should Make One Trip in Your Lifetime

Coachella 2016

May 12, 2016 by Archived posts 69 Comments

By Dalal Museitef |A&E Editor| Bandanas, people hovering over trashcans, overhearing conversations of Molly, okay line-up and overly expensive "hipster food" sums up Coachella 2016. For the attendees that actually witnessed the casual druggies passed out; this year we can collectively agree that it was not worth the over $200 GA wristband; not including the classy Motel 6 that had no Wi-Fi. The pros of experiencing the weekend was comfortably hiding in the media lounge where we hoarded free bottles of water and ice cream that refreshed our sandy mouths. While the first two days consisted of one hour gaps, it was the third day that overwhelmed and brought out my inner fangirl … [Read more...] about Coachella 2016

By Rebekah Deponte | Staff Writer | Coachella and Stagecoach are the most famous Southern California music festivals, but there are several other multi-day music events that happen under the radar every year. Diego Gutierrez

By Lupe Perez | Staff Writer | With midterms around the corner students are already thinking of ways to procrastinate. Coachella and Stagecoach being one of them.  These music celebrations range in different genres like Indie, Country, and Rap. Festival season is a great way to meet and experience artists that are unlikely to be heard of otherwise. Students elaborate on the festival favorites this year ranging from the main headliners to the rookies. Calvin Harris’s "Feels so close," inspired by Guns N' Roses song "Sweet Child O Mine," is a great addition to this playlist since both artists will be at Coachella, uniting two generations. Electronic and techno songs by DJ's like Zedd and … [Read more...] about Music Festival Playlist

Coachella the best decision

May 7, 2015 by Archived posts 16 Comments

By Itzayana Jimenez |Staff Writer| On May 16, 2014, I made one of the greatest decisions: I bought my Coachella weekend one ticket. Coachella is Southern California’s biggest annual music festival. It is a three-day festival located in the Mojave desert known for having a large variety of both mainstream and indie artists, hipsters with over-priced clothes, and an enormous amount of celebrity attendees. A few of the fashion trends at Coachella this year were floppy sun hats, bikini tops, cut-off shorts, and Bohemian dresses. Coachella 2015 was my first time attending the festival and it exceeded any of my expectations. To start off, as I was driving into the festival‘s … [Read more...] about Coachella the best decision
