Into the mind of a student activist

Kameron Pyant, a fifth year English major, has been working for the Cross Cultural Center (CCC) since the fall of 2016, which was his freshman year. He has hosted a plethora of events for the CCC such as "Speak yo Truth” and “Unapologetically Black." Pyant has also organized a couple protests this past summer in the wake of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor's deaths. Campus’ plans for Black History Month

The month of February becomes an exciting time for the CSUSB campus as the institution goes all out to celebrate Black History Month. Pan-African clubs, organizations, faculty, staff, and administrators have all put in a lot of work and time to make events this month a success. One of the most important assets in the planning was the student input and collaboration with people of other cultural clubs. By Marlyn Rodriguez |Managing Editor| The Black Faculty, Staff and Student Association (BFSSA) held their third annual Pioneer Breakfast in the Santos Manuel Student Union (SMSU) last Friday, Feb. 20 in recognition of Black History Month. The Pioneer Breakfast is an event that acknowledges students, faculty, staff and alumni who have influenced CSUSB in some way. This year’s honorees are James Person, Cita Jones, Carolyn Stevens, Margaret Hill and Dr. Tom Rivera.
