Don Woodford and his former students honored in the form of art

April 6, 2022 by Celeste Santarrosa 67 Comments

Don Woodford, an artist and educator, gives an artist talk solely based on his personal experience and his exhibition to emerge his audience in the rich knowledge of art to provide inspiration. The subject of art and art majors are always being questioned if they're necessary or justified. For others like Woodford, the arts carry a great significance to our modern day society and should be consumed in our education. Located on the far side of campus, The Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art at California State University, San Bernardino, freely welcomed guests to walk through two phenomenal exhibitions to gain a greater empathy for the context of the artworks … [Read more...] about Don Woodford and his former students honored in the form of art

Classical art is out and new media aesthetics are in

March 15, 2022 by Matt Santos 435 Comments

By Breana Owens Over the past century, art has shifted from the classical art style to more interactive pieces of abstract craftsmanship.  Some of the most famous pieces that have come from the past 20 years are abstract sculptures, such as Cecilia Vicuña’s, Quipu Womb. This is not to say that classical art cannot be analyzed in a deeper way. However, when it comes to modern pieces, the meaning behind them is not as transparent. Interactive pieces of art are also highly enjoyed by the … [Read more...] about Classical art is out and new media aesthetics are in

May 20, 2020 by Katherine Hepler 79 Comments

Former CSUSB student Jorge Razo is taking advantage of the extra time during quarantine to showcase his creativity. Razo has been generating memes involving Remy, a character he created in 2013, being stuck at home during this pandemic. Razo has enjoyed drawing ever since he was a kid. "As I got older, I didn't have the same free time to draw, so I set aside all my drawing supplies and forgot about them for many years," Razo said. "It wasn't until I started reading children books to my daughter that the idea to write her a book and illustrate it came to mind." In 2013, Razo started an instagram page and called it "wiidoodle" and used the platform as an incentive to draw every … [Read more...] about Quarantine life through the eyes of Remy
