Photo courtesy of Laura Muñoz SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Visual Frequency – a student exhibition will be featured in the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art’s Dutton Family Gallery at California State University, San Bernardino beginning February 3 and running through February 19. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 6-8 p.m. (preview at 5:30 p.m.). The closing reception will be Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 4-6 p.m., with an Artist talk at 3 p.m. Visual Frequency is a multi-media group exhibition that examines the multiple uses and expressions inherent in sign-based forms of visual communication. CSUSB professors Thomas McGovern and Juan Delgado, along with professor Raul Acero from the University of Redlands, collaborated to make the exhibit possible. Delgado specializes in poetry, literature, translation theory and creative writing. McGovern specializes in documentaries and photography. Oliver hopes to inspire people with his art and show how there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Oliver had the opportunity to showcase his work in a gallery show titled 'This Too Shall Pass" on March 1, in Los Angeles at the Known Gallery. Beatriz Mejia-Krumbein is an artist

Art is more than lines and color; it is a form of expression that conveys a strong message. Mejía-Krumbein has created powerful pieces of art that tackle controversial topics such as, child abuse, neglect and the misuse of power. She was born in Columbia but immigrated to the United States in 1987 after spending time in Mexico and Germany. She has served as Chair of the Art Department and director of the Brandstater Gallery at La Sierra University since 2004. Hernandez, Gregg Stone and David Rosales for a panel discussion on their work Thursday night. "Perspectives" is rich in culture, color and experience of artists from different backgrounds. The artists' work can resonate with those who have had the same experience and those who try to understand them. Linda Vallejo, a Boyle Heights native, has been painting since she was four years old. Art exhibit showcases skating world at CSUSB
By Ryan Hester |Staff Writer| The underground skating scene has made its way to the surface as scintillating skate decks fill the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art at CSUSB. “Full Deck: A Short History of Skate Art” is a traveling exhibition that features beautiful artwork on an unorthodox canvas: skateboard decks. The exhibition also presents the fascinating history of skate art from the 1960s to present day.
