A statewide AMBER Alert, on Monday, March 9 ended the same evening.
One-year-old Jayden Nathaniel Santiago was allegedly abducted by his father and is now in custody of U.S. Marshals in Tijuana, Mexico according to KTLA 5.
The AMBER Alert was issued in the early afternoon in San Pedro after the child was last seen around 1:30 a.m., according to police.
The AMBER Alert stated the suspect may be headed to Washington State or Mexico.
Jayden’s father, Giovany Santiago-Enriquez, is accused of abducting the child after allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
“Giovanny Santiago, entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence through an unlocked front door and proceeded towards her bedroom. The suspect entered the bedroom and stabbed his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend numerous times,” stated the LAPD in a press release.

According to the LAPD Santiago had shared custody of the child but the alert was issued after the alleged stabbing.
Police were able to recover the knife used in the attack which according to the LAPD Santiago threw out of his car window while fleeing the scene.
After the stabbing police say Santiago went to his residence in Long Beach then fled with his son in a 2006, Nissan Altima, license plate 5UCF010.
Santiago was considered armed and dangerous, wanted for attempted murder according to KCRA.
No further information regarding the child is available other than that Santiago is in custody and Jayden is safe in the custody of the U.S. Marshals.
