Halloween Weekend in Vegas

A weekend in Las Vegas can be an interesting experience, but a Halloween weekend in Vegas can be an even more so interesting one.

Heading up there to celebrate a friend’s birthday became an awesome time of partying, taking in the sights, poolside lounging, being chased by zombies, and attacked by strippers.

Not even two minutes after walking into the hotel my friends told me two things: “drop your stuff,” “Strip club,” escorted in an all black SUV to the front of Sapphire Gentlemen’s club the world’s largest gentlemen’s club. This was my first visit to a strip club and we received free drinks. Some things that happen in Vegas, must stay in Vegas, so all you need to know is that while tweeting I was attacked by  a stripper in an arguably good way.

A couple of hours and five drinks later we were at Chateau Nightclub in the Paris Las Vegas hotel, partying on the Eiffel tower was pretty amazing  that night. We mostly stayed on the second floor of the club on a heated patio. The costumes people wore ranged from Stormtroopers, guys in Snookie outfits, batgirls, Angry birds, etc. Drinks were crazy expensive, to get a bottle of water would cost you six dollars! Mixed drinks and shots were a couple of bucks above 10.

On the downtime I was either shopping, recovering, or watching people in their costumes. Some elaborate outfits caught my eyes on the strip like Marilyn Monroe, Transformers, Ghostbusters, buff male fairies, zombies, and Sesame Street characters. I also saw a dozen or so Occupy Las Vegas protesters. That could’ve been their costumes, because I came back to where they were protesting half an hour later and they were gone.

I didn’t really eat at a lot of food spots at all. The only two places I ate at were Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood and Jaleo in the Cosmopolitan. Earl of Sandwich is a pretty inexpensive hot sandwich shop that is addictive and offers ham, chicken, turkey, bacon, or anything else you can think of on your sandwich. Jaleo is a bit pricer and serves small portioned food. I’d more so recommend this traditional Spanish restaurant for you to eat flavorful dishes to savor instead of eating to be full and satisfied.

Second night of partying we were in Gallery Nightclub inside the Planet Hollywood hotel. The costumes on this night were too legit with a life sized Avatar suit, Wolverine, Teen Wolf, among others in the building. The highlight of the night though was the Real Housewives of Orange County shooting an episode at the section of the club where the Pussy Cat dolls perform.

Some lasting advice from me for your next Vegas trip: liquor run before the club(save you tons of $$), slots are evil, don’t tweet while a stripper is working the pole, and eat at Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood(ate there everyday faithfully).
