Lately the weather has been flip flopping between wild windy, cool rain, and sunny!
In the midst of all this spring weather, how are people getting ready in the morning?
Meet third year Sam Perez, the dark yet girly grunge fashionista.
On this hot day she sits comfortably in dark skinny jeans, black sneakers, a brown suede top, a dark sweater, her hair long and natural, and plum lips complimented by a cat eye.
She doesn’t define her style, but her mom likes to say she is a fun classy ’80s style.
When she starts getting ready for school she does her hair and make up regardless of the weather outside.
“I take out a few options and usually swap them around until something catches my eye, and do the same thing with shoes,” she said enthusiastically.
When the outfit is officially found she then adds accessories that will bring it all together.
Her all black outfit is sleek, adorable, and the green cardigan adds a pop of color.
“I actually do feel really good about myself when I get all dressed up. It just boosts up my confidence and it feels like I can be outspoken and not worry if anyone’s looking at me, ‘cause I look good,” said Perez.
We spoke about layers and how they add dimension, and like most students, she’s at school almost all day, and the weather changes hourly.
Another trend touched on was her personal jewelry, like her moon crystal necklace “which brings good fortune, assists in foretelling the future, enhances intuition, promotes inspiration, and offers protection on land and at sea,” according to Perez.
Lastly I asked her if she had any fashion advice for anyone curious and here’s what she had to say: “Don’t wear it like the mannequins are wearing it, don’t wear it how anyone else is, even if you see it on Instagram with 10,000 likes. Just wear it your own way however you’re comfortable. Just be you.”
