DACA turns ten: Fear of its impermanence still brews amongst its recipients
By Irann Arias Rodriguez Since its enactment in June of 2012, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) has been celebrated, attacked, rescinded, and revived, as this policy reaches its decennium. CSUSB assistant professor Paloma Villegas, Ph.D. of Sociology, has spent most of her academic career researching and examining the lives of undocumented persons within the United States and Canada. All were delicious of course and it meant a lot when purchasing and the owners come to talk to you or personally thank you for coming whether it’s from the staff or the owner it’s meaningful and personal. The smells are … [Read more...] about San Bernardino County embarks on healthy eating through their IE Vegan Sundays event

Big cat policy: Safe or misguided?
By Alexis Corine McGowan From time to time people have grown up thinking the norm of having a big cat perform in a circus or kept as some pet for personal use or entertainment. There are known public records of the dangerous consequences when keeping big cats. As shared in an article written in the Animal Welfare Institute stating, “Since 1990, there have been at least 400 dangerous incidents involving captive big cats in 46 states and the District of Columbia.” The numbers are alarming, but this can all be solved by not allowing people to own big cats as a pet or some sort of “act” in a circus or any sort of performance done by these WILD animals. Which can all be stopped by having the … [Read more...] about Big cat policy: Safe or misguided?
The benefit of arts funding in schools
By Andrea Smith An increase in K-12 arts education could lead to happier, smarter, and more successful students. The key to this outcome is an increase in national arts education funding. Arts education is widely regarded as an extremely important part of students’ success in and after school.
