Released on Nov. 3, Thor: Ragnarok is the newest addition to the Marvel Universe that follows Thor in saving the universe once again with a splash of humor and action.
This movie has a little for everyone, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe and finds himself in a race against time to get back to his home Asgard to stop Ragnarok from ruining his world. The end of Asgardian civilization is also threatened at the hands of an all-powerful new foe, the ruthless Hela.
The original cast including, Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Anthony Hopkins (Odin), returned to the screen and new people, including a scene with Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
With a 93 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, the third Thor movie made an estimated $121 million in its first weekend domestically on 4,080 screens.
This was a success due to a great balance of humor and action, this film brings in more characters from other marvel films including the Hulk.
“The best part of this movie was when Thor met with the Hulk and seeing the interactions Hulk has with Thor,” said Anissa Cooper, a big Marvel films fan. “It keeps everyone’s story growing and connects the whole saga together.”
After meeting Hulk, Thor finds a way back to his home world of Asgard to try and stop Hela for ruining it all.
Chris Harmsworth in his sixth film and third stand alone portraying the Asgardian god is better than ever with even more humor.
“I enjoyed the Guardians of the Galaxy-style that Thor: Ragnorak had with sense of humor throughout the movie,” said Cooper. “I was told before I was going to see the film that this was going to be the case and that was one of the main reason I went to see this movie”.
People are enjoying the style of the movie and the difference from the previous Thor films.
“It has great humor, story, characters, and action, etc.,” said Marvel enthusiast Josh Paat, “But even so, this movie does suffer from issues such as the development of the villain, which is not a new issue for the Marvel films. The film did not make the villain as important and did not go in-depth as I much as I would’ve liked.”
The style direction of the film is , courtesy of director Taika Waititi, who has made a name for himself with Thor: Ragnorak being his first large, successful movie. He also makes a cameo appearance as a character in the film.
This film is great for the family and everyone will just have to go see for themselves how the movie compares to the rest of the Marvel Universe collection.
