To our exes,
We thank you for the endless nights of sitting up and wondering where you were. We thank you for never returning our texts, or leaving us on read. We thank you for making us cry, and making us feel like we were not important. We thank you for making yourself seem more important than we were to you. We thank you for flirting with our friends in front of our faces. We thank you for never being excited for us when something big happened in our lives. We thank you for putting our needs on the back burner to your world.
We thank you for making us pay for your meals when you say “you’re on a budget,” we thank you for being so cheap. We thank you for putting us on blast in front of your friends, and making us seem like we were the burden in your life. We thank you for silencing your phone when you go out with your friends. We thank you for liking that girl’s picture on Instagram, and then denying it later. We thank you for never taking us on dates. We thank you for telling us to lose a little weight to look like the girls you see on Instagram. We thank you for showing us what we actually needed in life.
Thank you for being so terrible because it pointed us to what we really wanted in our life. We wanted stability and we wanted strength and guidance. We wanted to be shown that we were appreciated. We wanted to be thought of in the morning and at night and we wanted to feel like we were a part of some one’s future. We wanted to be able to sit in sweatpants with no makeup on and feel beautiful, and not judged. We wanted to know that we were finally becoming the women we were always meant to be and if it wasn’t for you making us feel small, and making us feel like we were never good enough, we would have never found our strength to get through.
Sincerely,
US
Ladies, you need to stop caring about these people that are not good for our souls. I want to let you know that you are loved unconditionally no matter who shows you different. You don’t need to find someone right now. Continue to grow and strive for the great things in life. Make yourself a better person and give the love you have for ones that deserve it. Blast that Beyonce, go to the gym, pick up a new hobby, find the things in life that make you…you… I sit and thank all those boys that took my heart and stepped on it because without their insecurities I wouldn’t have found my confidence. I stop and breathe better than I ever had before. I was very lost, and then one day when I finally let go, life knocked on my door and I was so happy to finally answer it.
